School's Out For Summer!!! What's Been Going On!

SCHOOLS OUT FOR SUMMER!  71 DAYS OFF THIS SUMMER - WHICH IS LESS THAN USUALLY SINCE WE HAD TO MAKE UP SEVERAL SNOW DAYS - BUT I'LL TAKE IT !!!

The time off always allows for a blog update to recap what's been going on since the last time I posted!  Which happened to be Winter Break!

In my previous post-January found us redoing Ryan's bedroom.

February was Valentine's Day.  I ordered these cute pennies from Jane.com - The year on the pennies are 1993, which happens to be the year Bill and I were married.  One is stamped with the date and the other is our initials.

I made little treat bags for my fellow co-workers.  I printed the saying: "You are SCENT-sational and truly re-MARK-able" There were scented markers inside each bag with some candy.

The bigger bags were gifts for both Ryan and Bill

On Valentine's Day, a good friend and fellow teacher fell walking her son's dog and broke her ankle. We collected items for a sunshine basket and I delivered it to her along with this card I made.

Some fun treats to help pass the time along with a gift card to Teachers Pay Teachers!

March was St. Patrick's Day!  I made these little treat containers for my fellow co-workers and family members.  Inside each pot was a variety of candy that is wrapped in gold wrappers.
The saying on the front of each clay pot read:  YOU ARE THE POT OF GOLD AT THE END OF THE/OUR RAINBOW

March also brought Bill to the dermatologist.  He has had a "suspicious" spot on top of his head for quite some time.  Several doctors/nurses told him to get it looked at - it started getting bigger and darker so I finally made an appointment and there was a cancellation allowing him to go directly from work that day!  THANKFULLY it was a Seborrheic keratosis and non-cancerous!  The dermatologist froze the spot and within a week or two scabbed up and fell of!

April was my Mom's birthday and Easter. (all in the same weekend).  We celebrated her birthday the weekend before, so she could have a day to herself!

Easter is one of my favorite holidays to decorate - I love bunnies and I love the pastel colors!

I made these bunny "butts" out of styrofoam balls and clay pots

Easter plastic eggs with letter stickers glued onto spools of thread

Cute bunnies from embroidery hoops and burlap

and these cute little bunny gift bags for fellow co-workers.

Each bunny bag had an egg as a gift tag.

Ryan's never too old for an Easter Basket!
(Allow "the Easter Bunny" no longer hides the basket for him to find!)

I ordered these eggs from Jane.com - I LOVE HOW THEY TURNED OUT!  I decided to keep them out year round and found a nest and sign to keep them in.

My supervisor had back surgery and was going to be off work for six weeks.  I made this card to go along with a gift to let her know how much she would be missed!

May was Mother's Day.  We celebrated with a Chinese Buffet!

The end of the school year is ALWAYS so hectic.  A LOT GOING ON!
There have been some changes in which grades some of the teachers will be teaching next year - so I was asked to make a few classroom signs:

I made these cards from Tiny Print to give along with some "year-end" gifts

This is what the outside of the envelopes looked like:

I made these frames for a friend who was transferred to another school last year and our LMC director:

I designed notecards (front and inside) for several other teachers and the principal - they turned out so cute.

I made two of these letter boards.  One for a teacher who retired at the end of the year.  I worked with her for 18 years and she was the first teacher I worked with when started as a Teaching Assistant. The other was for another teacher who I've worked with for 18 years and was transferred to another school next year.

I wrapped it in cellophane and topped it with flowers and leaves.

The notecards fit into a cellophane bag perfectly.

Here are all the End Of The School Year gifts I created:

The staff made an ABC book for our retiring teacher.  I went through 19 yearbooks and was able to create the "N" page in the book:

My friend/co-worker was picking up her puppy the day after school was out - I placed this on her desk to get her through the final week of school:

For the month of May, I was asked to create a display and posters for a fundraiser.  Students brought in coins and donated them into the jar that represented the teacher/principal they wanted to dye their hair the last week of school!  I found a website to change each of the participant's hair to the color they said they would dye their hair if they won!  It turned out really nice!

These posters will stay in the display case until they run/walk in October

May brought Ryan close to graduating with his bachelor's degree!
TWO MORE CLASSES and A SEMINAR and he will be done on August 25th!
Spring Semester was an AWESOME one for him!
STRAIGHT  "A's"

Which placed him on the Dean's List!
(fun fact: my uncle's son is also on the list - my grandma would have been so proud!)

June was our 26th Wedding Anniversary - and as always I got a wide array of gift cards!

This is random - but during my oil change, my brother found this nest sitting on the engine of my car!  We believe it to be a squirrel's nest! Thankfully it didn't start a fire or the squirrel didn't eat any of my wires!

Another random photo - While shopping at Jewel, We got to see Ryan on the Television while checking out!

I ordered some custom mugs for Father's Day for Bill and my Dad.
(I also had one made for Ryan for Graduation)
Each mug has 6 significant dates important to them.

Bill's Important Dates:
Each of our birthdates - Day we met - Day we Married - Bought House - Ryan's Birthday

 My Dad's important dates:
Got Married - Lisa Birthday - Dan's Birthday - David's Birthday - Ryan's Birthday - Jacob's Birthday

 Ryan's Important Dates:
Birthday - Started School - First Job - High School Graduation - Associates Degree - Bachelor's Degree

And to finish up - Here are my latest purchase of Skechers to add to my collection!
